TRAINING ON MECHANIZATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT | Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers from Mindanao participated in the four-day Training on the Formulation of Mechanization and Rural Infrastructure Development Plans and Roadmaps (Mindanao-Wide) conducted by the Department of Agriculture through the Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) at Eden Nature Park, Davao City.

BAFE PPMD Chief Engr. Cristy Pulido, Agricultural Machinery Testing and Evaluation Center (AMTEC) Director Dr. Arthur L. Fajardo, and UPLB Dean of the Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology Dr. Rossana Marie C. Amongo were also present during the training.

Speaking to the participants, DA-XI Regional Executive Director Abel James I. Monteagudo shared lessons from history pertaining to ancient agricultural infrastructures and related them to modern infrastructure developments, saying that mechanization and infrastructure developments evolve with time and are modified to suit the needs of the agriculture sector. He added that he hopes that the training will be fruitful and that DA RFOs will benefit from it.

โMore inputs should come in from this training, and results should come out. Itโs not just about hitting the targets but itโs also about the results which should improve the lives of farmers,โ Director Monteagudo said.
