DA urges coffee farmers to observe good practices to improve quality

The Department of Agriculture (DA) is now focusing on improving the quality of coffee in Davao Region.
For coffee production areas, a total of 2,300 hectares is in Davao region and about 1,000 hectares is targeted for expansion.
“The demand for coffee is increasing by 2.4 percent every year and is expected to rise in the coming years. More and more people drink coffee every day and an increasing consumption among younger generation,” said Melani Provido, DA-XI-High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) coordinator.
