In his message, Gov. Jayvee Tyron Uy represented by Provincial Agriculturist Minda Agarano said AEWs’ effort made Compostela Valley Province as one of the seven provinces in the country that was declared rice-sufficient by DA in 2018.
“It is their effort that the production of our high-value crops is increasing.
It is their effort that ensures our small farmers have enough linkages for their productions to thrive,” Gov. Uy said. DA Regional Director Ricardo Oñate, Jr. represented by FOD Chief Marie Ann Constantino congratulated the AEWs because they are our working partners throughout the years and their active involvement enhances the competitiveness of the agriculture industry in region 11.
“AEWs in region 11 are blessed because DA has been providing us support for this kind of gathering for six consecutive years in which AEWs can share ideas and experiences. We can also discuss issues and concerns regarding to the agricultural development in the region,” said LeADER 11 President Christopher Malayan.
The said event is in partnership with League of Agricultural Development Extentionist in Region 11 (LeADER 11) and Philippine Veterinary Medical Association – Southern Mindanao Chapter Inc.
