RACADCE is an organization of livestock stakeholders created to address the animal industry’s concern as to the control and prevention of economically important and emerging diseases. It is composed of representatives from the Department of Agriculture, its Bureaus and attached agencies, representatives from the private stakeholders of various commodities, and representatives from the Provincial and City Veterinarians.
Agriculture Regional Director Ricardo Onate said that the LGUs (governors and mayors) are tapped during this crisis since they are empowered to issue local ordinance for the faithful and appropriate enforcement and execution of laws in their respective area to prevent the entry of ASF in Davao Region.
He added that all DA Regional Executive Directors in Mindanao are also coordinating in implementing measures to protect Mindanao island-region from ASF incidence Aside from banning of swine products from Luzon, the LGUs are also requested to issue an ordinance prohibiting swill feeding to pigs their locality.
