The purpose of the contest is to depict the food security program of the government and give emphasis on the importance of food production in the eyes of the student. This is also to showcase the talent possessed by each student- participants representing the name of their respective school.

The contest was participated by grade V and grade VI pupils coming from both private and public schools in region 11. 
Angelie Galos of Sto. Tomas Central Elementary School has won the regional level contest and received P3, 000 cash. She will represent Region 11 for the national competition that will be held in Manila on October 11, 2013 wherein cash prize of P15,000 and a free tour will given to the five national winners. 

The theme for this year's world Food day celebration is "Sustainable Food Systems for Food Security and Nutrition" that give emphasis on the importance of advocating organic agriculture as one of the priority programs of the department. 

The mosaic making contest was also attended by participants from Doña Pilar L. Marfori Elementary School, Cesareo Villa Abrille Elementary School, S.I.R. Elementary School, Sta. Ana Central Elementary School, Maa Central Elementary School, San Roque Elementary School, Bolton Elementary School and Magallanes Elementary School. (LLbocado-Aggie Media Service)
