Joining the panel is Joycedel Macias, a chocolatier of Biao Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative (BARBCO), Marites Arellano of Balutakay Coffee Farmers Association (BACOFA), Lupe Calunsag and Teresa Calunsag Calunsag of Matanao Bulb Onion Farmers Association (MABUFA).
BARBCO who is known for their “Hugot Chocolate” is located in Tugbok District in Davao City. The co-op decided to go back into cacao production in 2005.
They are the recepient of the cacao expansion and rehabilitation program where trainings and inputs such as fertilizers and pruning shears were provided.
Meanwhile, BACOFA which is located in Sitio Pluto Balutakay Bansalan, Davao del Sur. Their coffee had been graded 85 over 100 by the International Q1 Cup Grader during the 2nd National Coffee Conference in Baguio City in 2017.
On the other hand, the MABUFA, a producer of bulb onion in Asinan Matanao, Davao del Sur started their onion production when DA provided their association with seeds as their starter kit.
