The RRDEN team will be composed of the following: Regional Advisory Council, and Regional Technical Working Group from DA and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources XI (BFAR XI), DA Bureaus and Attached Agencies, Academe, Provincial/LGU Research Team and private institutions.
During the RRDEN revitalization meeting, Dr. Angelina Pancho, RTD for Research and Regulations said that DA has a mandate to concentrate in research network, and thru RRDEN the “one system, one program approach” will now be executed.
“With its revitalization, R and D national issues like lack of budget and technical people will now be addressed,” Pancho adds.
Moreover, Digna Sandoval, OIC- Assistant Director and Head of Institutional Development Division (IDD) of DA-BAR said a grant of P3 million is allotted for the construction of the RRDEN office which will be established in Davao Region Central Experimental Station (DARCES) in Manambulan, Davao City this year.
As the lead agency, DA and BFAR will be the overall manager responsible for the maintenance, operation and optimum utilization of the RRDEN office.
The said agencies would ensure that the office will be made accessible to the members of the network that may need its services.
Sandoval adds that research results and on-going activities will be compiled in one venue which will easily be utilized by RRDEN stakeholders and other interested clientele.
“BAR ensures that research and development projects and relevant activities are properly prioritized for funding support,” Sandoval said.
Beneficiaries of the RRDEN center are from the academe, provincial/LGU, non-government organizations, farmers and fisherfolk associations and clienteles that needs research related concerns. Che D. Palicte, DA11
