In a turnover ceremony held today (April 23) in front of the Davao City Hall, DA XI Technical Director for Operations Marila Corpuz said that the program is in line with the Duterte administration's call to strengthen the peace-building and development in the community through the provision of the needed inputs for our farmers and fishers livelihood.
"Two million will be for the provision of motorized bancas and other fishing gears to the community under the Muslim Village Association in Talomo and the other two million will be for the native chicken production and cattle dispersal scheme," said Corpuz.
She added that extended training components will also be provided for the capacity development of beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, Davao City Agriculturist Leo Brian Leuterio encouraged farmers and fishers to be part of a farmers cooperative/organization to have a better access to the agency's support and services.
Two hauling trucks were also given to Subasta Integrated Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative and Biao Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative (BARBCO) by DA XI thru the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) for the production and marketing of dried fermented cacao beans.
