1st REG'L MANGO SUMMIT | Samahang Magmamangga ng Davao Region Inc. (SMDRI) invites the mango stakeholders to join the 1st Regional Mango Summit to be held in Davao City on October 19-20.

Department of Agriculture in Davao Region organized the SMDRI and provided various interventions to the group. Speaking during a press conference at Habi and Kape in Abreeza, Richard Olores, SMDRI president said the summit will address the issues and concerns on especially the problem of having low production of mango in the region. He also added that such problem exists due to crop shifting since mango growers opt to plant banana and other cash crops. It would also explain issues concerning climate change. Wilfredo Sebuco, SMDRI secretary said the summit is also a follow-up to the recently concluded mango forum attended by Secretary Manny Piñol in Davao City. He added that during the summit they will formulate policy guidelines, identify emerging issues and review the established roadmap for the mango industry. "One major goal of the summit is to uplift the lives of the mango growers," Sebuco adds.
