Under the Sustainable Livelihood Projects were Sustainable and Profitable Cattle Breeding and Dispersal, Sustainable and Profitable Cattle Fattening and Floriculture Sustainable and Profitable Anthurium Production.
Four civil society organizations (CSO) with 50 members namely Indigenous Peoples Organization (IPO), Municipal Rural Improvement Club Council (MRICC), Eman Farmers Association (EFA) and Kalambuan sa Kaumahan Producers Cooperative (DOUBLE-K) benefited from Sustainable and Profitable Cattle Breeding and Dispersal.
There were five CSO’s with 40 members from Kinuskusan Multipurpose Cooperative (KMPC), Nagkahiusang Kababayen-an sa Bansalan Credit Cooperative (NKB), Darapuay Farmers Association (DARAFA), Alegre Rubber Marketing Cooperative (ARMCO) and Disa Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative (DIFAMUPCO) who benefited from the Sustainable and Profitable Cattle Fattening while Darapuay Water System Users Association (DAWASUA) with 10 members benefited from Floriculture Sustainable and Profitable Anthurium Production.
Sustainable and Profitable Cattle Breeding and Dispersal is a livelihood project that can be linked to other agricultural enterprise for cattle manure which is a good source of fertilizers that can be used for African Night Crawler (ANC) Vermi Composting under the scope of organic farming.
Sustainable and Profitable Cattle Fattening project aims to alleviate the standard of living of the farm households thus the economic condition and nutritional status of the farm family.
Floriculture Sustainable and Profitable Anthurium Production is an important project for smallholder farmers where this serves as a source of cash income.
To recall, DA has also turned-over a check amounting to P2.5 million to Sulop, Davao del Sur for the implementation of livelihood projects which is also under GPBP.
The GPBP-driven initiatives for the Davao region is intended for agri-livelihood projects, farm-to-market road projects, post-harvest facilities, other agri-infra facilities, irrigation, among others. (Aggie Media Service)
