Department of Agriculture in Davao Region (DA-XI) Research Division spearheads the Revitalization Meeting of Regional RD&E Network (RRDEN) in Agri and Fisheries on Friday in Davao City.

 

To ensure harmonization of Research, Development and Extension undertakings, the Department of Agriculture in Davao Region (DA-XI) Regional Integrated Agricultural Research Centers (RIARCs) under the guidance of DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) will strengthen and maintain a network of regional and provincial collaborators.

Pursuant to the Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization Act (AFMA), the Regional Research and Development, Extension Network (RRDEN) for agri-fisheries was created for each region.

Operationalization of the said mandate started with the issuance of DA Administrative Order No. 09 (Series of 1999) which instituted the new modality in agenda setting, planning and formulation of RD&E in agri and fisheries.

Despite the negative feedback on the said variety, a banana farmer proved that there is hope in planting GCTCV 218.

“Giant Cavendish Tissue Culture Variant (GCTCV) 218 applied with organic formulations are a good mix.”

The Department of Agriculture in Davao Region (DA-XI) in partnership with Police Regional Office XI (PRO-XI) launched on Monday in Davao City the country’s first animal welfare desk.

DA-XI Regional Director Ricardo Oñate, Jr. , Psupt. Noel Silvosa, Deputy City Director for Admin and Marites Batacan, founder of Animal Rescue Rehabilitation and Fostering (ARRF) lead the signing of Memorandum of Cooperation on the establishment of animal welfare desks in Davao City.
